Pagan Portals – Hecate
Goddess of Magick and Witchcraft
by Irisanya Moon
Genre: Goddess Worship, Paganism & Neo-paganism, Witchcraft

Hecate meets us at the crossroads of our lives and offers a torch to illuminate the way
Hecate waits for us at the crossroads, torches in each hand. The goddess of land, sea, and sky is wise and wondrous, terrifying and holy. Triple-faced Hecate does not tell us the way; she shows us what can happen when we step into our power. With practices, trances, spells, and immersive exercises, you can build a relationship with Hecate: light-bringer, gate-breaker, and star-walker. The Goddess of Magick and Witchcraft inspires, guides, and grants safe passage in the darkest moments.

5 out of 5
Hecate is a goddess I’ve worked with only a few times, and I was curious to dive a little deeper, and see her from someone else’s POV, this book was perfect for that. I’d also recommend it to beginners, or those who are just curious and don’t want to go diving into the research deep end immediately. If you’re entirely new, I’d recommend reading this cover-to-cover to get a fuller picture, however if you’re more experienced, you should be able to hop around a bit and still get quite a bit of information from this. I liked the exercises meant to help you connect with Hecate, they’re a good starting point, but as Moon is quick to point out at the start, they’re not the only way to do so. The chapters I personally found the most interesting were the ones on Hecate’s family, and Hecate & Necromancy. I definitely plan on keeping the book around for reference, and diving deeper with the resources listed at the back the next time I feel the pull towards this goddess.
