This story is heavy with emotion and magic, and once you really get into it, you won’t want to stop reading. Although it starts off a bit slow, you’re given a glimpse of magic and mystery at the outset. Florence/Rosa is an amazing FMC, and I loved Florence’s superhero alter-ego. The story has good pacing once it gets going, and Hernandez does a good job of holding your attention. I loved how a magic engagement ring is what gives Florence the ability to become a superhero, it’s a nice twist on the superpowers by bringing magic into it, instead of advanced science or technology. I’m really looking forward to what future installments in the series will bring, as I’d love to see more of Rosa!
