This was a fun, satirical, quick read. I admit, from the mention of AI in the blurb to the mention of schizophrenia early in the book, I was very skeptical of how well this would be carried off. Schizophrenia is a very misunderstood disorder, and often poorly represented in popular media. That said, the way this book progresses, the emails, the characters, the events, it’s all very tongue-in-cheek and absurd. There’s no real seriousness to any of it, without making fun of a serious mental illness, if that makes sense. I think my favorite part was the introduction of the “Curator,” a creature that you must read about to believe. Although I have a feeling this book might be for a very niche set of individuals, I don’t know how many people will feel comfortable laughing about a serious mental illness unless they’ve struggled with one themselves and developed a dark sense of humor in order to cope with it.
