In the fire is right – this romantasy will heat you up! I wasn’t expecting this to be set in a world with many of the modern conveniences we’re used to, but once I shook off the surprise, I found myself completely immersed in the story. Talvi has such a big heart, and fire in her soul that can’t be put out, despite not being a fire elemental. Ives does an amazing job of bringing the small-town vibe right off the page in the opening of the story, and it was easy to see Talvi and her friends as normal YAs, trying to navigate the world, college, and life. Things quickly ramp up with the appearance of Caelan, and you’re swept up into a whirlwind adventure. Once the pace picked up, I found it hard to set the book down. If you’re looking for a romantasy that will capture your imagination and get your heart racing, you’ll want to grab this one and add it to the top of your TBR!
