When the archive is attacked, Wally and Bez each seize the opportunity to achieve their dreams—and inadvertently create a magical link between them. With so many lives lost in this assault on the mage headquarters, Wally’s connection to a dangerous devil makes him a threat and a target, forcing the pair on the run. Wally sees Bez as a sadistic devil, and Bez finds every word out of the mage’s mouth grating. Even so, they’ll have to work together to unravel the true threat in the city or they won’t live long enough to enjoy the lives they’ve both desperately wanted.

Wow. Two great MCs, descriptions that pull you right into the middle of the story, and that opening! (No spoilers, but what a way to open a book, you really need to check it out for yourself). I really don’t know how, but Bennet made Bez into a character you just absolutely adore by the end of the story. Maybe sexy sadistic devils aren’t always all bad? I have to say I definitely identify more with Walter, and I think his anxiety and nerves carried across the page well. If you’re looking for a fun romance with a hint of danger and thrills, two MCs that couldn’t be more different (yet somehow so right for each other), then this needs to be on top of your TBR pile!
