Life is Guarded
by C.N. Marie

Hudson
It wasn’t the perfect beach waves that caught my attention, or her pale blue eyes reminding me of the ocean I love. I don’t know what it was, but I’m sure something sparked a connection between us. Something special.
And when I find out she’s terrified of the one thing I find comfort and solace from, I know I can help her. But will she let me?
Summer
Coming to live in Hawaii was never on my bucket list. I could have turned around and walked away without guilt, except she needed me, and my mother is the one person I can’t say no to.
The easy smile and comforting laughter of the local lifeguard has my attention piqued but he lives his life too close to my fear.
Is the past always what we know it to be? And can fear really be overcome?

Mental Health Resources for those in the USA - In light of the recent election, I want to put out a message that LGBTQIA+ and minorities are always welcome here. I may post promos in conjunction with tour companies that spout worldviews I don't always agree with, but we do our best to avoid any openly phobic posts, and should you notice any, I'd appreciate you contacting me with this form to let me know.

I'm doing my best to get everything up on the site and social media in a timely manner. Apologies if anything is missed or late! Between the state of the US right now, my mental/physical health, and some things going on in my personal life, things may be missed or late occasionally. I truly appreciate your understanding!
