Do You Know?Powerful Words of Praise From Parents to Child

PARENT AND CHILD tested and THEY BOTH APPROVED!  A cute book to teach kids positive affirmations. Your kids will walk away knowing how IMPORTANT, UNIQUE, AND SPECIAL they are. They will learn to LOVE themselves and how POWERFUL positivity can be!

What inspired you to write this? I believe wholeheartedly in the power of our words as a counselor and especially as a mom. This book is a combination of all the affirmations that I speak to my girls or the kids that I work with on a daily basis. I felt that these words needed to be heard, spoken, and read by little kids across the world. I hope that they will be empowered! 

Are the characters based on anyone? The characters aren’t really based on anyone in particular, however the little girl on the page with “You will live by faith” reminds me of my sweet girls. 

Do names have a special significance for you when writing, and how do you choose them? Sometimes they do and other times I always make sure there is an alliteration!

What’s the hardest part of writing/publishing? Editing is tough stuff! The writing piece I love and it normally just flows but when I have to change things that’s when it gets tough. When it comes to publishing that normally goes smoothly as well but MARKETING is the tough part for me. 

Do you have a favorite time of day to write? It’s not really a favorite time, it is more like the only time to write. Having two daughters under the age of eight can be a bit time consuming so I usually get the opportunity to write around 11 or 12 at night. If we are vacationing I love to get up early in the morning and write while the sun rises. 

When did you first consider yourself an author? That beautiful Fall day in October of 2010 when my very first book came in the mail. I was so excited to see my name on the cover, especially knowing the hard work I put into it.

What’s your favorite holiday? Christmas! I love the time I get to spend with my family. I love the true reason for the season and watching my husband and girls open their gifts. I am such a gift-giver!

Would you rather be covered in fur or scales? Oh, fur because I am so cold natured. Plus, it would probably feel good. 

Is a hot dog a sandwich, why or why not? I would have to say it’s a sandwich I mean there is meat in between two pieces of bread. 

 Dr. Christie Black-Murrell is a devoted wife and enthusiastic mom of two adventurous little girls. Dr. Murrell has worked as a counselor in a variety of setting for the last 18 years but most recently as a School Counselor. She is a big kid who loves to read stories aloud and make characters come to life with puppets and animated voices. She desires daily to show children that there is still good in the world and that they can be the “good” in the world. Christie loves the written and spoken word which she uses as an avenue to “Speak Life and Promote Love” to all that she engages. This is shown in her writing, her speaking engagements, spoken word, and her counseling.  She believes that writing and speaking life is a part of her purpose and gives her all in everything that she writes. Lastly, you can most often find Dr. Murrell spending time with her family, worshipping God, writing, or reading a good book.

She is a Licensed Professional Counselor born and raised in Columbus, GA.

Welcome to NOMOPHOBIA ! A PLACE IN TIME WHERE OVERUSED CELLULAR DEVICES TURN CHILDREN INTO OGRES. This is a sumwhat true, mostly exaggerated story of modern day children.Children that have spent way too much time on their phones. One night the children are mysteriously turned into ogres.At first the children blame each other for their condition.When they finished blaming each other,they worked together to find a cure. They searched the house for a cure…But they could not find one. They tried to wash the ogre off…But it stayed on. They had all but given up when sissy*s phone accidently falls into the fish tank. When the phone gets wet, a hidden message appears. YOU WERE TURNED INTO OGRES,BECAUSE ON THE PHONE YOU DID STAY! NOW, PUT IT AWAY AND GO OUT AND PLAY! So the children rushed outside, where they returned to normal. That day the children learned a valuable lesson. OVERUSED CELL PHONES TURN CHILDREN INTO OGRES. I hope that you have as much fun reading this book as we did in writing it! THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!

What inspired you to write this? My lovely children are the inspiration for the book.

Do names have a special significance for you when writing, and how do you choose them? The only name in the book is “You“. The significance is that “you“ is the reader.

What’s the hardest part of writing/publishing? Writing was very easy, actually selling books is the hard part. ( that is why I booked a tour with Ms Portia Smith).

Do you have a favorite time of day to write? Anytime is a good time to write.

When did you first consider yourself an author? I still don’t think of myself as an author.

What’s your favorite holiday? I don’t care too much for holidays now days. We have commercialized them all and the meaning behind them is all but lost. Let’s tell our family and friends daily how precious they are!

Would you rather be covered in fur or scales? Neither, I am very happy in clothes.

Is a hot dog a sandwich, why or why not? Neither, the hottest dog I ever saw was when my mother in law knitted her dog a sweater. Poor thing. She made him try it on in July. Needless to say.

JD Wise is a West Virginian-born author who believes that the world can be changed for the better, by one person, one time, doing the right thing.

“Just think what would happen if we all did that,” said Wise.

Wise is happily married to the love of his life. Together, they have four wonderful children, who are the true inspiration for the book.
