This was an excellent introduction to the goddess Modron, speaking as someone who knew almost nothing about her going in. The myths chapter was a great way to learn about how she had been viewed and talked about during mythological times. There’s a chapter dedicated to her incarnation as a saint, and a sacred well, that anyone who has worked with saints will find quite interesting. The most intriguing part of the first half of the book for me was easily her ties to the underworld. Typically, when I think of deities tied with the underworld, Hel and Hades are what come to mind, and it’s definitely something I plan to do further research on. The second half of the book dives into more practical matters, and advises the reader on how to not only celebrate Modron year round, but also connect with her on a more personal level. There are invocations and questions to help you connect or strengthen your bond, well laid-out and easy to follow. Definitely something I’d recommend for beginners, especially as the bibliography in the back can lead you to more research!
