If you like older, strong FMCs, a touch of magic, love triangles, and a little bit of mystery mixed in, you need to read this! Iris is such a great FMC, sheā€™s a little older, has some experience with life and career, and is a little more relatable for me. Sheā€™s had a hard life in some ways, and been blessed in others. Her backstory and life feel real, like sheā€™s someone you could meet at the local coffee shop and chat with. I donā€™t want to give any spoilers, but the tension between Iris, Aaron, and the mystery man that comes into her life was perfectly balanced, and along with the mystery surrounding the pendant, really helped draw you through the story. Thereā€™s mid-level spice, and it blends in well with the story. Overall, the pacing is fairly smooth, and while itā€™s not very fast-paced, it isnā€™t boring either. One final thought – I canā€™t wait to find out what happens next!
