This was a fascinating, fast-paced historical fantasy with a bit of romance sprinkled in, that’s sure to capture your imagination. Aria feels older than her 18 years, she’s smart, strong, and determined. The prince wasn’t what I was expecting, but it was fascinating how he changed over the course of the book. My biggest complaint is the dialogue doesn’t always quite fit the whole historical vibe, and it took away from the story. I will say it’s very easy to get wrapped up in the story despite that, and to start worrying about Aria’s fate. She’s caught in a dangerous game, and those close to her are also at risk. Honestly, it was a wild ride from beginning to end, and I’m dying for more adventures, and wouldn’t mind seeing what happens with some of the other characters we meet.
