Disclaimer: I knew this ended on a cliffhanger going into it. Spoiler: I’m still mad it ended on a cliffhanger and I need the rest of the series like…yesterday! Y’all… if you want dark and spicy romance, and I mean darker than Kayne’s soul, you need to grab this because holy h*lls. This is a book you aren’t going to forget anytime soon, it will haunt you in the best way possible. I don’t want to give any spoilers, so I’ll do my best to not get too specific. Laura is so sweet and innocent and kind when we meet her, and by the end of the opening chapter, you’re wondering just what is hiding in her past. Kayne does more than talk the talk, he walks the walk, and the monster in your closet would be hiding from him. I loved Olga! She reminded me of Mrs Potts in some ways, and the contrast between her and Kayne was downright startling. I loved the almost… cat and mouse game I guess you could call it that played out between Kayne and Laura at his estate. That cliffhanger is downright killer, though.
