Earth and Mind
The Quinate’s Faithful Book 2
by Brendan Corbett
A Fae Mage and a defector from the Quinarium.
Together, they embark on quest that may determine the fate of the Fae.
After uncovering a nefarious plot to incite war against the Fae, Ami is desperate to find allies to protect her people. Meanwhile, Caudro grapples with the loss of what was once the entirety of his identity: his service to the Quinarium as a Paladin.
The Lords of Draethhold summon the two and their allies to make a range of demands before they will stand in support of the Fae. Ami and Caudro soon find themselves on a journey in search of a gilded tome, a powerful symbol stolen by the Quinarium in ages past.
Along the way, they must pass ancient trials, delve deep in mysterious crypts, and face enemies unimaginable. Through it all, Ami and Caudro are unable to deny their growing attraction despite the rift between Humans and Fae.
Earth and Mind is Book Two of The Quinate’s Faithful, a fantasy trilogy filled with magic, action-packed adventures, and a touch of slow-burn romance.
REVIEW
5 out of 5
I was so excited to dive back into this magical world, and the second installment of this series didn’t disappoint. We first meet Ami, and Corbett does not hold back with the emotional punches. I absolutely love the fire Ami holds inside, and my heart really went out to her with the way she’s treated as a child. Caudro is a complicated character himself, and I enjoyed getting to know him as well. Exploring more of the world and learning more about it was a bonus to watching these two and how they interacted and the way they reacted to the challenges they faced. I love that the slow-burn romance isn’t the main story line, but plays alongside the main one, working in concert with it. The pacing is perfect, with rarely a dull moment. Even the quieter moments of the story are moving things forward, and the descriptions are so vivid that you feel like you’re right there beside the characters watching it all unfold.
