Review: Hestia

Pagan Portals – Hestia

Goddess of Hearth, Home & Community

by Irisanya Moon

In a culture that often prioritizes and celebrates rugged individualism and separateness, Hestia welcomes us home. Her magick invites togetherness and shared resources by cultivating spaces of belonging and community. May Hestia call her back to our homes to celebrate families of all shapes, sizes, and forms, creating sustainable structures for ongoing collaboration and nourishment.

REVIEW

5 out of 5

This was an excellent introduction to Hestia, both in myth and modern practices. I do recommend reading the note from the author at the beginning, it gives a great explanation of the use of the word ‘godds’ within the book, and honestly, I might adopt that word into my own practice. If you decide to try the trance meditation, recording it ahead of time and listening to it with your eyes closed would be my recommendation, especially if you’re a solitary practitioner. Although I was familiar with quite a bit of the lore surrounding Hestia, I also learned some new things, and found new ways to connect with Hestia. Highly recommend for the curious, or anyone just looking for new ways to connect with Hestia that they may not have tried before!
