And let me say this: this prince is one hot alpha male with a serious attitude problem. We do not get along, save for the fact that he can turn my insides to mush with one look. But the silver lining here is that you can have a happily-ever-after if you survive. You can’t fall in love if you’re dead. It tends to spoil the romance.

It’s always in the fine print, isn’t it? Or, you could read this book and enjoy watching a wonderfully spicy fairy tale unfold before your eyes without having to worry about pesky contracts with tricky fairies. It’s a unique twist on the genre, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I absolutely loved Viola, but she certainly found herself in for more than she thought she was bargaining for quite quickly. Getting whisked off to an entirely new world, and fighting not just for love, but her life. Despite that, this isn’t just tension (although broody prince definitely upped the heat level a bit), there are some moments that will have you giggling too. I adored Black’s writing style, and the story moves along at a good pace. If you like tense, gritty competition reality shows, and dating reality shows but want it more spicy than can be aired on TV, then you need to grab this! I can’t wait to see what else this series has in store.
